The Palisades Parks Conservancy was formed in 2002 in order to support the parks and historic sites of the Palisades Interstate Park Commission. Its mission is to raise awareness of the Commission and its work, to protect and support the PIPC's parks and historic sites, and to promote and expand the preservation of natural, historical, and cultural resources in the Park for the benefit of the public."

Since its founding, the Conservancy has raised millions of dollars in support of the PIPC's 29 parks and historic sites. That work includes the creation of new trails, restoration of historic building and facilities, providing educational programming, and more.
